A demon behind the couch

Although it could be a lighting effect or a retouched picture with Photoshop, this image is circulating on facebook and twitter virally as if it were a sinister demon. At first glance, the photograph of this room does not show anything unusual, except the small matter of the lower left corner. I'm afraid ..! =O
